Who I am

This website, miekefleurackers.com, and its subdomains (such as artschool.miekefleurackers.com) belong to Mieke Fleurackers, Meibosstraat 11, 9200 Baasrode, Belgium. Company number: BE 0811.000.271.

I am responsible for your personal data. If you have any question about your data, write to me at info@miekefleurackers.com.

What data I collect

• Your name and email address, when you sign up for my newsletter, a free gift or a free live lesson.
• Your name, email address, billing and delivery address and order details, when you buy a painting, a reading, a course or a membership.
• What you share with me in emails and during a reading. Readings are personal: what you tell me, and what comes through, stays between us.
• Your progress and activity, when you take part in a course or community.
• Technical data such as your browser, device and approximate location, collected without cookies to count visits.
• With your permission only: cookie data from the Meta Pixel (see below).

I never ask for more than I need, and I never sell your data.

Why I use it

• To send you what you asked for: a free gift, the details of a live lesson, my newsletter. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of every email.
• To deliver what you bought and to keep my accounts. Legal basis: our agreement, and my legal duties as a business.
• To reply to your messages and book your reading. Legal basis: our agreement, or my legitimate interest in answering you.
• To understand how my website is used, so I can improve it. Legal basis: my legitimate interest (cookieless statistics).
• To measure and improve my posts and adverts on Facebook and Instagram. Legal basis: your consent (Meta Pixel).

Cookies and statistics

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. You choose “Accept” or “Only necessary”. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

• Necessary: your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser (local storage) for 12 months, so I don’t ask you again on every page.
• Statistics without cookies: Cloudflare Web Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics count visits without cookies and without identifying you. They always run.
• Marketing, only after “Accept”: the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) shows me which posts and adverts on Facebook and Instagram bring people here and whether they signed up. Meta may combine this with your Meta account. If you choose “Only necessary”, the Meta Pixel is not loaded at all.

I do not use Google Analytics.

Who helps me

I work with a few trusted services that process data on my behalf. Each only receives what it needs to do its job.

• Vercel: hosting of this website.
• Cloudflare: cookieless website statistics.
• Campaign Monitor: newsletters and emails about free gifts and live lessons.
• Plug&Pay, with Mollie as payment provider: orders and payments for paintings, readings and courses.
• Stripe: payments for 50 Symbols.
• Skool: the Spiritual Painters Sanctuary community and course access.
• Zoom: free and paid live lessons.
• Meta: the Meta Pixel, only with your consent.
• My accountant: invoices and bookkeeping.

Some of these services are based in the United States. They transfer data under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long I keep it

• Newsletter and email lists: until you unsubscribe.
• Messages and reading notes: as long as we are in touch, and no longer than 3 years after our last contact.
• Invoices and order data: 10 years, as Belgian accounting law requires.
• Your cookie choice: 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to how I use it, or to receive it in a common format. You can withdraw your consent at any time; this does not affect what happened before. Write to info@miekefleurackers.com and I will reply within one month.

If you feel I am not handling your data well, please tell me first. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Security

This website uses a secure connection (HTTPS). I keep access to your data limited to myself and the services listed above.

Age

This website and my newsletter are not meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If I change this policy in an important way, I will let you know on this page or by email. The date at the top shows the latest version.
